Shabby Chic Frame

VINTAGE JOURNEY Wings and Things

FASHIONABLE STAMPING Birds & Bees
SIMON SAYS MONDAY CHALLENGE  Anything goes
Craft Hoarders anonymous   messy, inky,  paste,  stencils

My entry for the above challenges this time took some doing.  Everything I end up with tends to be a bit dark so I wanted something pastel this time..............Not sure what the head honcho at Ranger towers would make of this pastel confection.
Not quite so keen myself on it
BUT HERE IT IS SHABBY VINTAGE FRAME

Here is how it came about

The frame started out a very dark forest green, one of those things that have been lurking around for years.  I coated it in white acrylic then sprayed with the inks pictured.  this was scary bright.  To give it some sheen and dull it down I mixed WHITE with some IRIDESCENCE MEDIUM.  and it looked like this

For the picture iwas going to use a photo but decided to shameless steal a tutorial that Kay Carley did in Craft Stamper magazine . Clear embossing paste mixed with rock candy glitter.

I  also stencilled on the frame and then covered with glitter
and itlooked like this, added some gilding was to the rims  If your gilding wax has set, put a few drops of TURPENTINE or PAINT THINNER  inside and leave a few hours, stir with the butt end of a paintbrush to use.
At this point I turned on the comp because I had forgot what the brief was, tried hard not to use dragonflys but failed again!
Made an arrangement with glittered GARDEN greens die, I love this die while prepping two horses that must be painted, getting resin dust everywhere.  Tried hard not to use my favourite things, dragonflys, but I failed.  these ones are made from black embossed acetate and then coloured with alcohol inks.
Had huge trouble sticking them on,  wanted them to be really stuck as I find glue dots dry out and fall off.  Eventually I used some 2 part expoxy resin, fast set but still not that fast.  They had to be weighted with texture paste jars
Add a little Perfect Pearls for the eyes
