STAMPING GROUND  WOYWDW  no 265

Here is my workdesk today, what a mess
Less than 2" square to do anything in!
What have we got?   Well, I bought a Christmas card kit, pick and stick last year.  I don't really know what I am doing with them, when I have finished they just look like bits of cardboard stuck together.  So I decided to get it out and have a go so far I have made 2 A6 cards then they will probably go in the bin as I will be to embarrassed to send them out.  Do you feel like that with the cards you make?
The Andalusian horse is a custom Breyer, it was originally See through pink plastic, he has been redone to a brown, sounds very boring.
He is waiting to have his hooves varnished and this is were it can go very wrong.  The varnish can soften the paintwork underneath so ruining it if it smudges at all.
And, low and behold it did go wrong, all four hooves done and I caught one on my t shirt, covering it with bits, wiped them off and all the painted hoof with it.  Gutted.
Here is his beautiful head, I am especially pleased with his eye, my daughter doesn't want to sell him but he has got to go on the dreaded e-bay!!
Some very strange people on their recently, very scary
I love him, wish he was real and mine! 3 wonderful shiny hooves and one duffer at the back1
The two card I made, bit duff.  If anyone who drops by is any good with these card kits, I would love you to point me to your posts that feature them so I can learn a bit more.  xx

He looks pretty spectacular to me - can't see the duff hoof at all from this angle :) But I am trying to imagine him a shocking pink.... bet it looked cool like that as well. Almost like a bronze, really, the way you did it - but I expect that was the goal!
Fab.

Happy WOYWW!

Hi, your horse is beautiful - shame about the hoof, hope you can fix it. Ten cats! How wonderful, I adore cats and would love a few more but not sure my one cat would sanction the acquisition of one more, let alone nine! I did email you a few weeks ago re the WOYWW5 ATC but not heard from you - don't know what is happening there. Happy WOYWW and thanks for sharing. Elizabeth x #47

You did a great job with the horse. He doesn't look plastic at all. Hope you sorted out his hoof to your satisfaction.

The horse looks amazing...I assumed it was an old bronze! Surely a slightly matter hoof is in keeping with the overall aged look overall aged look you've given it? certainly not a duffer if you ask me. Nor the cards..I think you're being very hard on yourself!

He certainly is a proud beast, he would be fantastic if he was real.
Interesting collection of stuff on your desk and like the way you use the kitchen roll as a shelf, I do exactly the same thing Lol!
Happy crafting and have a great week, Angela x # 48

Hi Jill Happy WOYWW and thanks for stopping by my desk. We all make some cards that we stare at later and just wonder where they came from. Cool horse. Cheers Robyn

This is my first time stopping by for WOYWW, enjoyed my visit. Understand perfectly about the horse, it seems like it's always the last one that gets goofed up. Not a card maker so can't really help you out, sorry. Diane #71

Hi Jill, thanks for your comment today and in answer to your question the bright colourful stuff in jars is, on the left, Gentle Blends, and on the right, Buff-It - both are Pinflair products.

Here's a link for Gentle Blends - http://pinflair.co.uk/category.php?category_id=293&page=4 and here's the one for Buff-It - http://pinflair.co.uk/category.php?category_id=296

There are also some YouTube videos showing how to use these products.

Hope this helps. Elizabeth x #47

Jill, That horse is stunning. Would you let me know when you list it on eBay? My email is songsongblue@live.co.uk. If the price isn't out of my league i would love, wonky hoof and all:)

I love the cards. The only thing I might have done is brought the embellishments further down, or added something else below.

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.

Happy WOYWW Sue 24

The horse looks great - I bet no one would notice the duff hoof, especially as it's at the back. I've never used card kits before but I like what you've done. Thanks for stopping by my desk, I hope you have a good week.

Hello Jill ... thanks for popping by my blog earlier & sorry it has taken so long t get back to you. What a pity you can't keep your horse - he is wonderful even with a messed up hoof! I want to bin everything I make and haven't yet produced one card that I am happy with and when someone says they are ok I wonder what they can see that I can't. I think your two Christmas cards are just lovely and those kits are a great way to learn lots and lots! You might find you start making those cards as the instructions in the kits and then you feel you want to move something to a different position ... then add a little bit of something else ... and then before you know it you are ignoring the instructions all together and just doing your own thing! Keep at it and I look forward to popping back here to see the results. Happy WOYWW'ing !!! Love Debbie xXx

I wouldn't have known the horse was plastic. Great job on him. For the hoof, have you thought of putting clear nail polish on it?

I think the cards look fine the way they are. We are our worst critics, aren't we.

Happy belated WOYWW

Hi Jill, that's roughly the amount of space I end up working in. lol I love your Andalusian horse, you have managed to get a beautiful finish on him, I can't imagine him in pink plastic !! he is so handsome now, I wouldn't want to part with him either.
Your cards look lovely to me, I have just had a scroll through your blog and you have some great art work to see. Also love the post with Lucas the borrowing bunny with his dirty face. You will have to post a pic of your kitties sometime too, though getting all 10 cats in one photo could be a photography nightmare lol
Thank you for your comments on my blog Lottie #64

Your horse is lovely. Sorry his hind hoof got smudged -- isn't that just the way? I think your cards look just fine -- I tend to feel comfortable at the clean-and-simple end of the spectrum anyway. So few people even send real cards anymore -- I wouldn't feel self-conscious about sending them out. Happy WOYWW, woefully late -- and thanks for your visit. ~ Laura #65
